The Prexies - From the End of the Depression through World War II and
into the Greatest Economy in the World
The purpose of this exhibit is to show interesting uses of each stamp in
the 5th Bureau Issue. For almost 25 years they were the primary stamps
used by the public before being slowly replaced by the 6th Bureau Issue.
The exhibit will show domestic and international rates and the many
services that were paid by stamps. In addition to service fees were
often paid by the Prexies. The intent is not to show each rate possible
for each stamp but interesting examples of the stamps being used. Rates
are shown across the different values. The exhibitor has a bias for uses
of the fewest stamps possible and for use of Prexies over other issues.
This is secondary to the actual use being shown.
