#78c, 24c Blackish Violet, the extremely rare shade, great "true" color, tied to cover to London by segmented geometric New York Foreign Mails cancel and red "N. York Br. Pkt Paid 19 Jul 11" exchange datestamp, carried on Cunard Line steamer Java, red London paid arrival postmark, this shade is chronically misidentified, ex Grunin and Herzog, fewer than five examples reported on cover, I have seen only one other on cover example and two off cover that I consider to be blackish violet, the key piece to any 24c collection $8,000
