1863-1867 Issues The stamps on paper watermarked small star were printed by Perkins, Bacon & Co. while they had the printing contract. The paper varies from thin to medium. The stamps were still roughly perforated 14 to 16 but many examples show more clearly defined holes and were evidently produced after the pins were sharpened and cleaned. Finding individual stamps well centered with the perforations not impinging upon the design is rare. The gum is a clear, uniform and thinly applied as is typical of Perkins, Bacon & Co. produced stamps. A total of 480,000 one penny stamps and 186,000 six pence stamps on paper watermarked with a star were shipped to Antigua. |

1863 - 1867 issues. The "A02" barred numeral cancel which was used at St Johns and
the "A18" barred numeral cancel used at English Harbor. The English
Harbor cancel is much scarcer.
