Plate Varieties Of One Penny

The one penny denomination was printed in a sheet size of 120 stamps arranged twelve columns across by ten rows down. There are several re-entries and plate flaws. Some flaws and scratches developed as the plate wore and can only be found on late printings.

I consider two of the re-entries, that exist on all printings, to be major. From the same vertical row, these are found on positions 8 and 20.  These are illustrated below.

Additional less important plate flaws, mostly scratches that show on later printings are reported on positions 45, 51, 57, 59, 69, 71, 81, 100, 101, and 105. One diagonal scratch shows between positions 88 to 100 on some printings.
